WestGen’s Grand Opening was Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 10:30 am at 1625 Angus Campbell Road, Abbotsford, V3G 2Y8. In attendance was the Honourable Judith Guichon, the Honourable Norm Letnick, The City of Abbotsford’s Mayor Henry Braun, The Township of Langley’s Mayor Jack Froese, City of Abbotsford Directors Darren Braun and Wendy Dupley, Abbotsford MLA’s Darryl Plecas and Simon Gibson as well as many retired and existing WestGen Board members, WestGen CEO, associated press neighbours, farmers and staff.

As the city of Langley has grown around us, nudging farms further eastward into the valley, it was time for WestGen to move closer to the heart of BC’s cattle industry. The new office has been built as Phase One and the plans for Phase Two, the building of new barns, are already in production.

We are now embarking on the next exciting chapter in Abbotsford, British Columbia!

A great time was had by all as guests enjoyed Berry wine sampled by Mann Farms, saw some 4-H heifers on display (panels provided by Edge Wholesale Direct), children had their faces painted by Just Keep Smiling, Photobooth by Panorama Media Group, lunch was milk from BC Dairy, farmer sausage from Rempel Meats, buns from Otter Co-op, cooked by local 4-H clubs. Dessert was Birchwood Dairy Ice Cream sponsored by MNP and WestGen cookies from Lexi’s Treats. Parking was in a nearby field lent to WestGen by John DeJong.
